• ACL-08: HLT. We are hosting ACL June 15-20, 2008! See the website for more details. ACL-08: HLT combines the Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) with the Human Language Technology Conference (HLT) of the North American Chapter of the ACL.

• INLG 2008. Michael White, Crystal Nakatsu and David McDonald (BBN) are organizing the 2008 International Natural Language Generation conference June 12-14 (immediately prior to ACL) at the Salt Fork Resort and Conference Center, two hours from Columbus. • Automatic Analysis of Learner Language A pre-conference workshop at CALICO08, co-organized by Detmar Meurers. More information on this ICALL-related workshop can be found here.

• Clippers. The Computational Linguistics discussion group at OSU (Clippers) meets weekly throughout the quarter to discuss ongoing research and share ideas. Anyone with an interest is welcome to attend. The Clippers page is located here.

• Speakers Series. Outside speakers are frequently invited, either through the Department of Linguistics or Computer Science and Engineering, to give talks of interest to computational linguists. • NLG Eval 2007. Michael White and Robert Dale (Macquarie University) organized an NSF-sponsored Workshop on Shared Tasks and Comparative Evaluation in Natural Language Generation, April 20-21, 2007, in Arlington, Va. Don't miss the 67-page final report on the workshop website! The workshop has led to the running of the first two NLG shared task competitions (ever), the second of which will be held in conjunction with INLG 2008.

• IICALL 2006. Luiz Amaral and Detmar Meurers hosted the first annual workshop on Interfaces of Intelligent Computer-Assisted Language Learning at OSU, December 14-17, 2006. See the workshop website for details on the talks and presenters.

• MCLC-2005. On May 14-15, 2005, CLLT hosted the Second Midwest Computational Linguistics Colloquium (MCLC-2005). This colloquium offered a less formal forum for computational linguistics researchers, primarily from the Midwest region, to get together and present ideas and work.
